Zusammenfassung: | Fractal geometry is characterized by its self-similarity and hierarchical structure. Based on this, this study examined the relationship between surface roughness and fractal dimension for determining the perceived softness of facial tissues. We measured the surface roughness by evaluating profile parameters through surface profilometry. Simultaneously, we assessed the fractal dimension using the variogram method. Results revealed that the fractal dimensions of the facial tissue surfaces ranged from 1 to 2. A notable correlation was observed among the aforementioned fractal dimension values, independent dimensions, and surface roughness profile parameters. This correlation, which diverges from traditional Euclidean geometric methods, stems from the unique surface structure of facial tissues influenced by the creping process. The critical finding of this study is that the fractal dimension acts as an effective, independent metric for differentiating the surface characteristics of facial tissues. KCI Citation Count: 0 |
