Zusammenfassung: | The morphological and surface properties of printing paper are crucial in realizing excellent printability and dimensional stability because an uneven paper surface makes it difficult to achieve uniform color density and can lead to deterioration of the overall properties of the paper. Various measurement methods are available for paper surface analysis. However, indirect and noncontact methods are limited in extracting surface profiles, making accurate surface structure analysis challenging. To date, the average and absolute deviations of the surface roughness and friction obtained using direct measurement methods have been proposed as paper surface profile parameters. However, these parameters do not influence the formation of paper. Conversely, the fractal dimension of surface roughness, which is rooted in self-similarity theory, is a surface property parameter and reflects the surface contour profile. Consequently, the fractal dimension of surface roughness has demonstrated a strong correlation with the formation of paper. Therefore, this study introduces the fractal dimension of surface roughness as a novel parameter for the morphological properties of paper. KCI Citation Count: 0 |
