Some nitro compounds smoothly reduce to the corresponding azoxy compounds, while others yield a complex mixture of azo, azoxy, and other compounds. An investigation has been made of the various factors affecting the velocity of the reaction and the relative proportion of the products. An attempt is made to clarify the various reactions taking place. |
