Describes the design and operation of the pilot scale test rig, constructed on site at MB Century, Taupo, New Zealand, that uses lamellar separation technology for recovery of NCaSilH (nano-structured calcium silicate hydrate). Discusses some of the considerations leading to the development of the NCaSilH geothermal technology and outlines research questions, process chemistry issues and product characteristics for the small-scale pilot plant test rig.
