Zusammenfassung:On entering the teaching profession, I brought with me a deep seated commitment to acknowledging and nurturing the place of tikanga Maori in our country and to celebrating and enjoying cultural diversity. As Te Kotahitanga embraces these very values in its endeavour to raise education outcomes for Maori students, naturally I trained in this programme at the end of my first year of teaching. This was all about being the teacher that I wanted to be.
