N class locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia for the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company (maker's no 12104/91), as WMR no 9. At the end of 1908 the company was purchased by the Government, and it was renumbered NZR 'N453'. Written off in November 1926.
