Zusammenfassung: | Further improvements in ultrasound technology offer better resolution in the study of fetal development. This enables the sonographer to diagnose fetal anomalies with increasing accuracy. There has been a need for a comprehensive yet detailed textbook on the diagnosis, causation, incidence, pathologic process, prognosis, and complications of these anomalies. This work answers these needs admirably.
The book is organized according to fetal organ system. Each chapter gives a brief though usually quite graphic and adequate overview of normal anatomical development. The presentation of the embryologic anatomy of the central nervous system, face, and heart is especially excellent.
