There is no other single source to compare with this all-inclusive, highly readable, and extensively illustrated fourth edition of Spencer's compendium on lung pathology. Since the 1977 third edition, the work has been updated and expanded to include legionella and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, as well as new material on diagnostic tests for pneumoconiosis, small-cell carcinoma and its relation to pulmonary carcinoids, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and the immunology of sarcoid, among other topics.
