Zusammenfassung:「Abstract」: We saw a case of necrotizing fasciitis of male genitalia extended to the abdominal wall with nonketoic hyperosmolar diabetic semicoma. The patient had been suffering from diabetes mellitus and dyskinesia due to multiple cerebral infarct and dementia. Intensive care for diabetic semicoma, administration of antibiotics, debridement and drainage of the necrotized tissue were performed. The patient was rescued and got over an acute inflammatory phase in three weeks but died in the 15th week from deterioration of his general condition. Acute necrotizing fasciitis of male genitalia (Fournier’s gangrene) usually requires surgical treatment, administration of antibiotics and intensive care for complications (diabetes mellitus being the most frequent complication). Mortality from the disease is affected more by deviation from homeostasis than by the extent of the disease.
