Zusammenfassung:Methods to improve the dose distribution in neutron therapy were searched. An idea of accelerators which can provide non-coplanar neutron beams is proposed. The dose distribution in a human body irradiated by non-coplanar beams was estimated based on a simple model. As the number of directions of neutron beams was increased, the dose distribution was considerably improved. The ratio of the absorbed dose of the surface of a phantom to that of the target volume (≥10cm deep) was about 1/6 when the number of neutron beams was 15.
