Zusammenfassung: | The value of crossed sectional ultrasonography for carotid plaque was investigated. The subjects comprised 27 cerebral ischemic disease patients with carotid artery stenosis. Ecogenecity, stenotic rate and positioning of the plaque were neasured by longitudinal and crossed sectional B-mode and color Doppler ultrasonography. Two different groups were analized: over 70% carotid artery stenosis (group A) (n=12), including three patients with carotid stenting, two patients with carotid endarerectomy~ and less than 70% carotid artery stenosis (group B) (n=15). Ecogenosity of carotid plaque is as follows; in the group A hyperechoic 2, isoechoic 6, mixed echoic 4 and in the group B hyperecoic 7, mixed echoic 2, low echoic 2. The intraluminal progression of carotid plaue is as follows; in the group A five plaques showed concentric type and seven plaques showed eccentric type. Relationship between the intraluminal progression of carotid plaque and residural blood flow space was clealy observed by crossed sectional color Doppler ultrasonography. In conclusion crossed sectional study using B-mode and color Doppler ultrasonography is useful to evaluate the progressive changes in carotid plaque. |
