LATE REPUCATION PATTERNS IN TRANSLOCATED CHROMOSOMES OF CREPIS CAPILLARTS SHOOT PRIMORDIA BY THE ANTI-BRDU ANPIBODY TECHNIQUE (BAT)

Zusammenfassung:Replication patterns were studied on chromosomes of the four strains with translocations produced artificially in Crepis capillaris (2n=6) shoot primordia. Shoot primordia were continuously labeled with BrdU for various hours, and BrdU was detected by an immunological method. A series of replication patterns with different amount of BrdU substitution into chromosomes reflected the process of late replication. The positions for a translocation were examined by an in situ hybridization probed by a repetitive DNA, and the patterns were compared with those of the late replication. It was observed that the most of the translocated segments were replicated at the same timings as those at the original positions. And, the replication pattern in the strain MT7F also showed the position for the exchange between the 1st and the 3rd chromosomes.
