Zusammenfassung: | B. orientalis (Jaub. and Spach)(Cruciferae) is a herb growing in many regions of Turkey. The fruit of this plant is a traditional medicine used for treating coughs and skin diseases 1,2). Sinapic acid ester, benzoic acid derivatives, their glycosides and glucosinolate salt have been obtained from the fruit of the plant 3,4,5). In the present paper, we report separation and identification of isoorientin, sinapine, sinapic and 3,4 dihydroxybenzoic acids from the fruit. Fruit of B. orientals was collected in the central region of Turkey and dried. The plants in this region are said to be originated from the plants originally growing near Ankara(Turkey). A voucher specimen is retained in the Ankara Universitesi Eczacilik Fakultesi herbaryumu(AEF). Dried fruits(1kg) were extracted with petroleum ether and then with methanol. |
