Zusammenfassung: | Physicians face to dilemma in their choice of the anti-cancer drugs because of their unbelievable side effects. Recent, observations of positive correlations among polyamine levels, tumor growth, anti-cancer drugs have encouraged study of the terms of polyamine metabolism. The effects of bleomycin on body weights, organ weights and the contents of putrescine, spermidine and spermine in the various tissues were examined in rats treated with the drugs for 5 consecutive days. Bleomycin are recommended for management of tumors in the seminal vesicle, testis, small intestine because the reduction of all polyamines is associated with inhibition of tumor growth, whereas bleomycin are not recommended for management of tumors in the heart and kidney due to the increase of certain spermine, respectively. Examination of the polyamine contents of the various tissues that has been treated with the drug could be important tool to allow development of new strategies that target the tumor-bearing tissues on the basis of polyamine level. |
