22. Establishment of a Useful Electronic Dental Health Records System

Purpose A dental office was established at Showa Yokohama Northern Hospital on March 28, 2011. Since Showa Yokohama Northern Hospital has already adopted an electronic medical record system, we reconstructed our electronic dental medical records system while considering several points. Here, we report a summary and the advantages of the electronic dental medical records system developed. Materials and Methods This time, we adopted the electronic medical records system, which can be used in conjunction with HOPE/EGMAIN FX（ver4.0）Fujitsu Corporation, concerned dental treatment records, the selection of dental disease and treatment lists, X-ray/radiation system, an appointment system for patients and an examination system. Results Electronic dental records system is able to be confirming the history of treatment record and patient information and able to be convenient efficiency by usage of template for dental treatment record. Selection of dental disease and treatment list reflected ICD10 and statistical data of disease list from Showa University Dental Hospital. Radiation system was reconstructed by PACS and RIS. We considered to Appointment system that duration of appointment time consistent with dental unit and not effect to the efficiency for patient treatment. Examination system based on dental treatment is able to be convenient efficiency by unification of several examinations. However, dental electronic medical record system is necessary the modification properly because this system is not almighty. Conclusion We would like to effort for popurization of dental electronic medical record take this experience.
