STIMULATORY EFFECT OF PLASMIN ON THE RELEASE OF HEPARAN SULFATE FROM VASCULAR ENNOTHELIAL CELLS IN CULTURE

Vascular endothelial cells are important in the regulation of blood coagulation and fibrinolysis . Zusammenfassung:Vascular endothelial cells are important in the regulation of blood coagulation and fibrinolysis . Since thrombin stimulates the release of plasminogen activators from endothelial cells1) thrombin-stimulated cells will convert more plasminogen to plasmin. We hypothesized that plasmin produced from plasminogen by plasminogen activators derived from thrombin-stimulated endothelial cells may affect their GAG metabolism. The present study was undertaken to clarify the effect of plasmin on the release of GAG from bovine aortic endothelial cells in a culture system
