Co-Creating the Future Now

The world can be put on track towards a globally sustainable future by putting into practice the ongoing developments, aspirations, and promises of a collaborative, organizational science. The utopian perspective we present in this chapter is about the critical developmental steps to make a global transition happen. A crucial challenge in this developmental process is the bridging of enormous gaps between diverse societal groups to align them across seemingly irreconcilable differences. This utopian process is based on a new 'co-creative' paradigm that inspires groups and communities to engage in high quality collaborative practices. These practices stimulate people - including scientists - to take into account the wellbeing on a system level beyond their mere self-interest, through engaging in the relations with others here and now. They generate the necessary social creativity towards an open, emergent, increasingly sustainable future that is not pre-defined.
