Air Interface Layer 2

To conclude the discussion of the 5G air interface, Chapter 12 looks at the protocols in layer 2 of its protocol stack. The topics discussed include scheduling and control of the physical layer by the medium access control protocol; segmentation and re‐transmission by the radio link control protocol; routing for dual connectivity within the packet data convergence protocol; and the service data adaptation protocol's mapping of data streams between the radio access network and the core.
