Zusammenfassung: | Chronic nongranulomatous ulcerative jejunoileitis is a rare disease of unknown cause, which is clinically similar to celiac sprue in symptoms such as chronic diarrhea, weight loss and malabsorption. However, this disease is characteristically associated with severe protein-losing enteropathy, and poorly responses to gluten-free diet. The representative pathologic findings of this disease are multiple, nonspecific, and nongranulomatous ulcerations in small bowel. We experienced three patients who had suffered from chronic illness of malabsorption and protein-losing enteropathy of unknown cause. One patient received operation for GI bleeding and the other two received for intestinal obstruction. The pathologic findings were multiple, nonspecific, and nongranulomatous ulcerations of small intestine. Thus, we concluded that they were the cases of chronic nongranulomatous ulcerative jejunoileitis. (Kor J Gastroenterol 1999;34:399 - 405) |
