Zusammenfassung: | We reported the case of a patient who came to our attention because of draining sinus formation and chronic pyogenic infection for 1 year in a right knee that had had a total knee arthroplasty(TKA). Cemented revision arthroplasty using allograft technnique for tihial and femoral defects and delayed implantation after debridement was evaluted for the treatment of chronic infectect total knee arthroplasty. The patient was treated by implant removal and debridement with antibiotic-irnpregnated cement beads and followed by intravenous antibiotics. Cultures of synovial tissues taken before and at suirgery ol debridetment grew Klebsiella pneumoniae. A pain free, nondraining wound was achieved following the two stage procedure. Antibiotic impvegnated cemented reconstruction using antibiotic soaked allograft bone and rigidly fixed femoral Antibiotic impregnated compeonents were successful with a follow-up of 3 years. The patient achieved stable fixation of the implants and good function of the knee but complained of flexation contracture 10". Extension 10" and full flexion 135 without pain in the knee. In the intermecliate term. This method might be successful procedure in restoring function, reconstructing bone stock, and eradicating infection. |
