Zusammenfassung: | There are reasons to believe that the “Arab Spring” was brought about or at least manipulated by pro-American interest groups and agencies, like the earlier “coloured” revolutions that shook ex-Soviet and socialist states. They seem designed to bring the affected countries into a closer relationship with the US and its NATO allies by liberalising their economies and “Westernising” their political systems. This article examines the involvement of American foundations and NGOs in promoting and funding the Arab revolutions in states not entirely under American globalist control. |
