LA MYSTIQUE AU PRISME DU GENRE: IDENTITÉ ET DIFFÉRENCE

Le présent article se propose d'aborder l'épineuse question du sujet mystique dans une perspective de genre. Après avoir pris les distances d'une approche différentialiste visant à élaborer une spécificité de l'identité féminine mystique par rapport à celle masculine, l'auteure souligne les limites d'une lecture sexuée de la mystique. En dialogue avec l'œuvre de Grace Jantzen qui voit dans la mystique une construction sociale liée aux rapports de genre et de pouvoir, l'article souhaite questionner le sujet mystique en tant que produit d'une expérience intérieure radicale de la relation à Dieu. This article concerns the difficult question of the mystical human subject as seen through the lens of gender. After some critical comments on a differentialist perspective and its hope to identify the specificity of a feminine mystical identity, the author shows the limits of a gendered study of mysticism. In conversation with Grace Jantzen, who interprets mysticism as a social construct linked to gender and power relations, this article envisions the mystic as the product of a radical inner experience in relation to God.
