Zusammenfassung: | Injuries to the feet can be quite debilitating to any dancer. The final stages of a soft corn injury and the treatment it requires can eventually end the career of a professional dancer. The purpose of this article is to present a case study of a professional ballet dancer with an infected soft corn and to outline the treatment she received. The treatment included antibiotic therapy and a custom-designed interdigital pad to disperse the compressive forces on the foot during dance activities. The dancer was able to continue her career by using the supportive device and to compete successfully in an international event. |
