Zusammenfassung:During about two centuries, the Ballard family of music printers gathered a private music collection of around 2200 prints. It can be studied through the inventory of Jean-Baptiste Christophe Ballard, deceased in May 1750, and the bibliographical notes written by Sébastien de Brossard around 1700. The collection includes many Ballard prints along with prints coming from other workshops in Paris, Antwerpen, Amsterdam or Italian centres. In this article, the 1750 inventory is put into context and fully transcribed. It also provides the identification of all extant editions, and points out some remarkable items.
