Zusammenfassung:Educational Technology's May–June 2004 issue contained articles concerning different viewpoints about the nature of, and relationships between, Learning Sciences (LS) and Instructional Design (ID). This article offers observations, critiques, and suggestions about LS–ID relationships. Ideas from perspectives outside of the usual context for LS and ID (e.g., other areas of psychology, design, invisible college) are examind in the spirit of facilitating further explortion and enhancement of relationships between the LS and ID communities. The May-June Educational Technology provided a very good foundation for the exploration of LS-ID relationships, but much more work remains to be done that could be of benefit not only for LS and ID but also for society more generally.
