Zusammenfassung:Studies were done to determine the effect of five fungal toxins (helvolic acid, patulin, penicillic acid, rubratoxin and secalonic acid) on the germ tube elongation and percent germination of sporangiospores from Rhizomucor miehei. Only patulin and secalonic acid caused a statistically significant decrease in percent spore germination. All five toxins had a statistically significant effect on germ tubes, either stimulating or inhibiting their elongation.
