Zusammenfassung: | Desulfhydrase activity of human and mouse tumors was determined according to our previously described techniques to further ascertain if a difference occurred in the capacity of these tissues to effect the degradation of cysteine hydrochloride as compared with normal tissues. In confirmation of our previous investigation it was found that all human tumors tested showed desulfhydrase activity and that no apparent difference occurred in the amount of hydrogen sulfide produced in tumor or normal tissue. In addition, the experiments using C3H mice bearing spontaneous mammary tumors showed results similar to human tumors with the exception that the amount of H₂S produced was of a smaller quantity. |
