Zusammenfassung:Out-migration has been characteristic of the anthracite area of Northeastern Pennsylvania for several decades. The out-migration flows from Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties, however, differ in their destination. By interviewing in depth a sample of high school seniors in the two counties with respect to information flows and perception of opportunities, this paper attempts to show why the behavioral approach to this study of migration has been found useful.
