《春秋左傳》王引之《述聞》獻疑 / Notes on "Chunqiu Zuozhuan" in "Jingyi Shuwen": Ten Case Studies

高郵王念孫（1744_1832 ) 、王引之（1766-1834 ) 父子是清代（1644-1912) 樸學的代表人物， 其於經學、小學方面的成就， 世罕其匹， 《經義述聞》、《讀 書雜志》、《廣雅疏證》、《經傳釋詞》等， 均為登峰造極之作， 後世學者， 莫不 奉為圭臬。二王地位崇高， 就其學術加以探討， 實饒具意義。今不辭淺陋， 就 《經義述聞· 春秋左傅》十則， 檢其可議之處， 略陳己見， 以供方家斟酌。 Wang Niansun 王念孫 (1744-1832) and his son Wang Yinzhi 王引之 (1766-1834) were both renowned scholars of Qing 清 (1644-1912) with tremendous achievements in the study of the Chinese classics and philology. Their Jingyi shuwen 經義述聞 and Dushu zazhi 讀書雜志 are highly respected by experts and remain essential references for Chinese philologists. Their great fame, however, should not deter later scholars from re-examining and pointing out possible errors in their works. This paper argues that some of their commentaries on Chunqiu zuozhuan 春 秋左傳 are highly suspect and problematic. Ten examples will be discussed in detail and it is hoped that the questions raised in this article will form the basis for further investigation.
