El neopentecostalismo como objeto de investigación y categoría analítica / Neo-Pentecostalism as an object of research and an analytical category

Este trabajo reflexiona sobre la construcción del neopentecostalismo como objeto de estudio y sobre la utilidad del concepto como herramienta analítica. Para hacerlo, se presenta el origen del término y del movimiento religioso, se identifican sus limitaciones y alcances y se analiza la relación de la categoría con la teoría de la secularización. Finalmente se propone considerar al neopentecostalismo como carismático evangélico, un movimiento religioso diferente al pentecostalismo, el cual puede estudiarse desde una doble perspectiva sociológica e histórica. This study reflects on the construction of Neo-Pentecostalism as an object of study and on the use of the concept as an analytical tool. To this end, it presents the origin of the term and the religious movement, identifies its limitations and scope and analyzes the link between the category and the theory of secularization. Lastly, it seeks to regard Neo-Pentecostalism as charísmatic evangelical, a religious movement that is different from Pentecostalism, which can be studied from a dual perspective-both sociological and historical.
