Zusammenfassung: | In language research, two worlds coexist. On one hand, we seek to establish a general theory that is valid for all linguistic phenomena and is also supposed to shed light on specific facts. On the other hand, being here indifferent to methods and systems, we seek principles valid for a limited field, allowing detailed observations and practical applications. This sketch, roughly drawn, seeks to highlight the gaps between not only General linguistics and Language Sciences, but also between different branches of language sciences. My purpose is to show the disadvantages of such a position, and find out if we can find crossways from one domain to another, and mutual benefit of closely related disciplines. |
