Zusammenfassung: | Contrary to what the advocates of isolationism claim, the French economy has benefited from becoming more open and more internationalized. France considers that globalization, which is now to a large extent behind us, must be regulated in four dimensions : a set of recognized principles, the instruments of the rule of law, the instruments of collective action and the organization of democracy. France intends to promote international commercial openness as well as a more regulation-oriented, more legitimate and more generous WTO. The international opening-up of economies and multilateral negotiations must therefore be a controlled and progressive process and should include new dimensions. They will contribute to the maintenance of France's international role and to the extension of her influence. |
