Zu Hans van Houten

The writer considers it possible that the painting reproduced here is by the same hand as the picture identified by Dr, Bredius (Oud-Holland 1937, p. 24) as a work by Hans van Houten. Unfortunately we can judge only from the reproduction in Dr. Bredius' article. If the two paintings are by the same hand, this would solve the problem of the so-called "Pseudo Van de Venne", as the present picture is a characteristic work of this Anonymus.
