Zusammenfassung:This research studies the effect of cooperative instructional environment on student achievement in Principles of Finance. Using a TOBIT equation, this study provides evidence that a cooperative learning strategy enhances student achievement. The results are free of survival bias induced by students who withdrew from the class. In addition, a survey instrument is used to examine student perceptions on cooperative instructional strategy. The survey results indicate that students perceived the cooperative learning strategy to be helpful and that they recommended its use in the class in the future. The findings of this research suggest that Finance professors should consider using a cooperative learning environment as part of their teaching strategies.
