Zusammenfassung:This paper focuses on a brief presentation of the preliminary results of the study of ancient Laconian quarries, which have been discovered either in the past or more recently by a research team from the Department of Archaeology and History of Art of the University of Athens. The ancient quarries of Plytra (ancient Asopos), which are of great interest for their surviving reliefs and graves, are discussed in detail.
