Zusammenfassung:The first part of the article breaks down Hitler's concept of history into theoretical principles: the myth of so called Aryan Kulturschöpfertum and the corresponding myth of Jewish Destruktionsstreben both leading to the corollary that Jews and Aryans were involved in a Rassenkampf. Thus, because Aryans were a persecuted race, Hitler's messianic sense of the present, in terms of uplifting the Aryan race in the future, pervaded his concept of history. The article continues by discussing Hitler's assessment of history in relation to specific historical periods, events and figures. He was particularly interested in the Roman, British and German empires before 1806 and 1871 respectively, where history legitimatized the extortion of power. Thus, Hitler found a means of justifying his imperious political ambitions as well as securing his own totalitarian claim to power.
