An Anthropogenic Meander Cutoff Along the Ucayali River, Peruvian Amazon

Abizaid presents a study on river-management practices among riverine population in an extremely fluvial environment such as the Ucayali River. For local people to invest labor in removing vegetation and in widening and maintaining the channel, the benefits of their efforts must be clear. They are related to improving river transportation and to make river travel safer for goods and people.
