Both matter and form are entities which, as proper parts, comprise the unity of substances. In my commentary I aim to criticize this version of »mereological« hylomorphism : It denies classical independence-criteria for substancehood and assumes a problematic unity-criterion. It is furthermore committed to a questionable »bottom-up« understanding of reality. |
