Zusammenfassung: | Archaeological studies in the Visayas have a long history with investigations carried out by both foreign and Filipino scholars, and by several international, national and regional institutions that have supported research. These have been scattered in a variety of journals in both global and local publication venues. Part I of this Research Guide addresses the broad historiography of Visayan Archaeology and builds a Visayan context within which to frame present and future studies. The narrative and the citations provides a framework within which prior research can be assessed relative to changing global trends in archaeological studies as well as research priorities within the region. |
