The Samaritan Book of Asāṭīr expands the biblical narrative, focusing on four central figures: Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Moses. As a parallel chronicler, Asāṭīr is faced with a sacred text which is far from generous in relating facts, events, and even ideas. To fill in the gaps of the laconic biblical phraseology, with its abundant omissions, Asāṭīr uses various sources, some of which are no longer identifiable. Some examples are provided in the article.
