Zusammenfassung: | I present here a hitherto unpublished bronze piece from the mint of Ispali, bearing the name Leovigild. It includes two cruciform monograms, which represent the name of the king and that of the mint, respectively, on the obverse and reverse. The historical evolution of the use of cruciform monograms in Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages is also examined. The paper ends with a brief discussion of all known minimi that bear the name of Visigothic kings. |
