Zusammenfassung:The use of regression analysis was considered for estimating cost and production functions in wastewater treatment plants. After presenting some sample estimation results, attention was focused on the limitations of regression techniques. Regression may prove to be useful for historical descriptive purposes and as a means for setting standards, but it fails as a method to be used in planning future facilities or determining efficient rules for operating existing plants.
