Zusammenfassung: | Thucydides' descriptions of the disease that struck Athens in the summer of 430 BC (Thuc. II 47–54 and III 87) would seem to indicate that the devastating effects were felt by all sectors of the Athenian population. The paper explores the ramifications of that observation. |
