Zusammenfassung:This Note takes a closer look at the recent edition of Campanella's surviving letters. It traces its origins, beginning with the preparatory work of Luigi Firpo, to then examine its editorial criteria and highlight its systematic nature together with the critical importance of an exegesis which is never elusive and in many cases innovative. In particular, this Note reads the volume in the light of the thematic and formal (lexical and stylistic) standards of 16th and 17th century epistolography, an already significant corpus which this new edition both enhances and illustrates.
