R. Isaac Luria and his circle produced a rich and detailed prayer intentions as documented in R. Hayyim Vital's Sha'ar Ha-tefilla. These intentions are designed respectively to the variety of sexual unions of the divine male and female Parzufim which are carried out throughout the day. All of the daily and routine activities such as getting dressed, eating, falling asleep and even going to the bathroom are interpreted as actions that by the right intentions contribute to the implement of these divine sexual unions. This article examines the daily routine of the Kabbalist life, and outlines the holistic structure and rhythm of the twenty-four hours of the day as designed by R. Isaac Luria and R. Hayyim Vital.
