Zusammenfassung:Even though the academic discipline of philosophy is one, it is well known that there are radically different approaches to it, more than in other fields. Prof. Leibold has worked at an Institute, in which the tensions among transcendental, constmctivist (Erlanger School) and analytic-scholastic accounts of philosophy were evident. They caused conflicts which could have been avoided if one would have reduced philosophy to history of philosophy. The members of the Institute did however resist the temptation to refrain from the systematic inquiry. If one takes the contents of the manifold philosophical theories seriously one cannot avoid considering arguments in favour and arguments against them, and this endeavour can cause conflicts.
