Zusammenfassung: | 5-arylidene-4-thiazolidinon-2-thiones(II) have been synthesised by the Knoevenagel condensation of 4-thiazolidinon-2-thione(I)-with the aryl aldehydes. The 'Mannich Reaction' of the aforesaid(II) with different substituted anilines, utilizing the amidic active hydrogen at position-3 of (II) gave fifteen new 5-arylidene-3 arylaminomethyl-4-thiazolidinon-2-thiones(III). The structures of these compounds have been confirmed by elemental analysis and the IR and NMR spectra. The compounds are non-toxic and psychotropics Some of them have induced the writhing also. |
