Zusammenfassung:On the basis of a sociometric questionnaire administered to 126 fourth and fifth grade children, 42 were classified as popular or rejected (21 popular, 21 rejected). The Human Figure Drawing Test was administered in an attempt to examine whether it could be considered a means for examining social adjustment. Two groups of judges, 10 psychologists and 10 non-psychologists, were asked to classify the 42 drawings. The Human Figure Drawing Test (a) did not prove to be a valid measure for determining the social adjustment of normal children as measured by the sociometric questionnaire; (b) did not show psychologists to be better judges than non-psychologists; (c) did not reveal a distinguishing pattern of signs as an indicator of good or bad social adjustment.
