Dow Corning Corporation

The Economic Research Function at Dow Corning is comprised of three people headed by the Corporate Economist, who reports to the Vice President of Corporate Business Development who reports to the President and Chief Operating Officer. The economist is responsible for analyzing and communicating information about world-wide economic conditions as well as recommending and advocating corporate tactical and strategic reactions to those conditions. Support of the corporate planning process is of prime importance. Sales tracking and forecasting and long-range sales forecasting models are developed. Other responsibilities include membership on the Corporate Investment Committee for the company's pension funds, participation in the quarterly Productions Operations Review and chair of the Cycle Monitoring Task Force. Outside activities are encouraged.
