Home Hospital in Rishon-Lezion and Ramla-Lod / אשפוז בית בראשון לציון וברמלה-לוד: שלוש שנות ניסיון בשירות חולים חריפים בקהילה

Innovative medical project for acute and complex patients, has been functioning for three years in Rishon Lezion and Ramla-Lod, run by Kupat-Holim Clalit. It is well defined "Home-Hospital" unit, that gives hospital care for patients with severe and problematic conditions. The main difference between this unit and an Internal Medicine ward in a Hospital, is the distance between the patient bed and the doctor and nurse. In a hospital it is 30 seconds; in the new unit it is 30 minutes, and measured in kilometers. We compensate for the distance with communication means, high mobility and high availability 24 hours daily. Data on first 700 admissions and nearly 1000 night calls is also presented.
